Job Description

Job Overview

This position is responsible for overseeing the operational management of urgent care centers, including primary management duties for one to two sites and oversight management of other sites.  Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  personnel management, marketing, patient/company satisfaction, policy and regulatory compliance and adherence to budget.  Maintains effective working relationship with urgent care center staff, provider staff, corporate support staff and management and client companies.

Essential Functions

  • Ensures that infrastructure and resources are in place to meet needs of urgent care centers.
  • Develops cooperative and effective working relationship with urgent care center medical directors to ensure centers operate safely and efficiently.   
  • Ensures budgetary compliance for urgent care centers.
  • Ensures payroll is completed accurately and submitted timely for each pay period.
  • Ensures all invoices are reviewed for accuracy, entered into AP payment system and approved or sent for approval in a timely manner.
  • Provides management oversight for Practice Managers and has general oversight to include marketing, business management, compliance and etc.
  • Works with executive management regarding new business development.
  • Actively participates in recruiting activities for urgent care centers.
  • Ensures clinics and equipment are in good repair and function appropriately.
  • Ensures timely reporting of operational statistics for urgent care centers.
  • Serves as liaison with executive management to ensure adequate communication and partnership.
  • Visits clinic locations regularly to maintain appropriate professional relationships with providers and clinic management.
  • Oversees the development of procedures to include identifying, implementing and adhering to best practices for all functional areas of operation.
  • Where required, works with hospital partners to ensure JV sites operate in cooperation with the health system and represents health system in a positive manner.
  • Manages the supervisory activities associated with position (clinic management staff, clinic support staff (MA, PSR, Rad Tech), etc). This includes, but is not limited to, goal and process development, direction and delegation of tasks, recruiting, training, employee discipline, performance evaluation, coordinating workloads and other related supervisory activities.
  • Remain current on Medicare/Medicaid, insurance regulations and participating provider requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Job performed in a well-lighted, modern office setting;

Job Qualifications

  • BA or BS degree in Business Administration, Management or related field, master’s degree preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum of 5 years in medical management
  • Ability to manage and direct others
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Good computer skills (word-processing and spreadsheet)
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
  • Ability to meet stringent and multiple deadlines
  • Knowledge of CPT coding, diagnosis coding, insurance carriers, billing and collection procedures, and
  • Ability to handle stress and conflict.
