OVERVIEW:

The IT Applications Analyst Litigation is responsible for supporting the legal teams in the coordination, communication, and execution of legal holds and hold documentation. This is achieved by communicating clearly and timely with internal and external legal counsel regarding case and custodian scopes. The execution of legal holds and searches will be accomplished through legal hold eDiscovery software and search engines, Microsoft Exchange exports, file directory exports, or any combination of these sources to produce the best result set.

In working alongside legal teams, the IT Applications Analyst will operate with a detail-oriented mindset and have a passion to assist in the delivery of precise and accurate legal findings as they relate to IT controlled systems.

The analyst will also be responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of additional information systems (outside legal hold) that support organization functions. These additional assignments will be managed in conjunction with the primary workload of legal hold responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicate with internal and external legal counsel regarding case and custodian scopes
  • Perform, coordinate, and train on issuance of legal holds and hold documentation
  • Perform regular and targeted indexing of network and Microsoft Exchange spaces
  • Perform case-specific searches on in-scope sources
  • Perform or coordinate exports on requested result sets
  • Perform appropriate legal evidence deliveries in accordance with TeamHealth security processes and controls
  • Monitor and maintain litigation hold eDiscovery applications. This could include routine maintenance, software updates, software configuration, service account password rotations
  • Coordinate with internal IT teams (system administration, networking, Microsoft Exchange administration, secure file transfer, information security) to deliver legal hold requests and manage information systems
  • Provide customer support for IT applications. Respond to, troubleshoot, and resolve IT support requests in a timely manner
  • Apply technology to solve business problems and improve user experience
  • Support, install, implement, and update IT applications. Coordinate with internal IT digital infrastructure team to support IT servers and equipment
  • Utilize an investigate mindset when assisting with legal case searches and exports. Each case requires a thorough review and understanding of the specific search terms, date ranges, and custodians involved
  • Possess a strong ability to set expectations accurately related to legal cases (time limitations, technology constraints, etc.). This could involve what is and is not available for delivery in regards to digital evidence to the legal team
  • Provide more than one intake process when needed for legal hold documentation gathering. Each legal team often operate within different intake processes and methods
  • Provide documentation (guides, FAQs, etc.) around IT controlled legal systems as needed. This could relate to what data and systems are available for searching, timeline in where historical data resides, file size limitations related to exports, etc.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s (4-year) degree in a technical major, such as computer science or information systems. Will consider a combination of education and experience in place for a four-year degree
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience supporting, troubleshooting, and maintaining IT applications, server maintenance
  • Knowledge of data preservation and configuring legal software solutions preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction or supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an orientation towards professionalism and customer service
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical problems and provide solutions
  • Experience in constructing both simple and advanced search queries to produce an accurate search result set
  • Experience or exposure to working with legal teams (attorneys, paralegals) a plus
  • Proven experience in supporting and maintaining system applications
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange and Outlook
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows file shares and permissions
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems
  • Experience with Linux operating systems
  • Experience with ZyLAB eDiscovery software (or similar eDiscovery legal hold platform) a plus
  • Experience with IPRO Live EDA (a Reveal platform for eDiscovery searches) a plus
  • Experience with Lighthouse eDiscovery platform a plus
  • Experience with maintaining an indexing solution such as IPRO which is distributed across multiple systems (Windows and Linux) a plus
  • Experience with basic or advanced networking a plus
  • Experience with SolarWinds Samanage or similar incident management platform a plus
