This position is remote. However, 50% travel is required to the following states: TX, CO, OK, IN, MA, WA, OH.

OVERVIEW:

The Practice Manager for Acute Behavioral Health under the direction of the Vice President of Operations (VPO), is responsible for operational performance and support of the contracted sites and clinical staff in their assigned region. The Practice Manager coordinates client service activities, maintains decision-making with financial impact on the organization and establishes positive customer service relationships with their assigned facilities and community, including client service support for contracted and employed practitioners.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides leadership and expertise to foster improvement in productivity, performance, and morale
  • Identifies and drives process and system improvements to improve efficiency and/or patient experience
  • Works proactively to anticipate and manage day to day operational challenges promoting strongly positive client relationships
  • Resolves functional and administrative issues/problems related to contracts under purview of responsibility. Includes providing insight on client specific needs which may include recruiting, maintaining providers, and assisting with maintaining community relations with client hospitals.
  • Work in collaboration with the System Medical Director and Facility Medical Directors to manage behavioral health services to achieve the goals and expectations established by the hospital
  • Oversee all aspects of daily clinical and business operations of the practice; ensure corporate policies and procedures are implemented and objectives are met
  • Manages projects and programs including strategies implementations plans, evaluation mechanisms, staffing plans, timelines, payroll, and budgets
  • Assist in the preparation of quality metrics to influence decision-making and drive performance
  • Collaborates with hospital and leadership to design and implement operational plans for practice
  • Serves as liaison linking hospitals, onsite staff, and corporate departments to facilitate communication and provide continuous support while being the go-to point of contact
  • Provides oversight and guidance and serves as an escalation point for the practice in conjunction with the Medical Director
  • Manages interviewing, hiring, provider performance evaluations, and orientation of new staff at practice. Ensures staff completes all aspects of the new hire orientation, online trainings, in-person training sessions and meetings as required
  • Works with Practice Coordinator to ensure clinicians bill in real time and assists/escalates issues to RMD and VPO
  • Work in conjunction with Post-Acute Clinical Manager to create a transitional care program
  • Maintain on-call schedule and ensures business continuity including backfilling for unplanned absences and finding coverage for absent employees
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned by VPO or Medical Director as needed
  • Provides administrative support for minutes/agendas for team meetings

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a medical management in a hospital/clinical setting
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Masters preferred, in Business Administration, Organizational Management, or other relevant field of study or equivalent professional experience.
  • Three (3) to Six (6) – years of experience in line management, project management, and/or consulting leadership roles with significant Healthcare industry

  • Highly organized, with demonstrated track record in a program management office environment

  • Leadership, teamwork, and the ability to develop others.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio)

  • Resourcefulness, ingenuity, strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle stress and conflict
