Data Science & Analytics Function: The DSA is a team of data analytics and business intelligence professionals focused on providing critical leadership to the organization to support the key focus area and priority of metrics driven operational excellence while continuing to advance our analytical discipline and support our decision-making with comprehensive, evidence-based analytics. This leadership includes partnering with key stakeholders across service lines and functional areas of the business.


Job Requirements


  • Strategic Plan & Roadmap - Develop and maintain a formal data science & analytics strategic plan that includes mission and vision, values and priorities, structural components, communication plan, development priorities, resource plan and key measurements.
  • Leadership Collaboration – The VP DSA will lead collaboration with senior management and business leaders using their influence to align and integrate with business needs.
  • Technical Leadership Provide technical leadership and guidance to grow and mature our Data Science and Analytics practice solving challenging problems within our organization.  Champion a data-driven culture across the enterprise cultivating data collection/measurements leveraging the right technologies to create scalable processes for Data Science, Analytics, and Business Intelligence.
  • Oversight - Act as chairperson of the Data Governance Council and play a key leadership role in the Community of Practice for Business Analysts. The committee will meet at least quarterly with an established agenda and minutes and communicates program plans, activities and accomplishments.
  • Teamwork – Lead the Data Science & Analytics organization, consisting of direct reports and indirect reports (such as individuals in business partner and Digital Infrastructure organizations).       Must be able to accomplish results working through multiple indirect relationships.
  • Program Leadership - Lead a strategic, comprehensive DSA Program to ensure that the management and analysis of data is well disciplined and controlled balanced with a great experience for business leaders and users of the data.
  • Industry Best Practice - Identify and adopt the most appropriate industry best practice, methods, tools, technology and standards to accelerate TeamHealth capabilities.
  • Risk Management - Define, manage and facilitate resolution of data management and analytics risks with mitigating strategies and enterprise alignment on roles and responsibilities..
  • Policies & Procedures - Develop and maintain data management policies and procedures that are clear and simple to adopt and operate at appropriate levels of the organization.
  • Compliance - Ensure audits are performed to test compliance with policies and procedures.
  • TeamHealth Brand – Protect the brand while ensuring TeamHealth’s data science and analytics programs and the VP portray a positive public posture for leadership, integrity and demonstrating best practice.       The VP will maintain personal credentials, remain abreast of changes in technology and keep TeamHealth a premier brand in the market. 


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in progressive leadership with big data and business intelligence
  • Proven track record in creating and developing effective and high performing teams
  • Demonstrated track record as a thought leader in big data and business intelligence
  • Outstanding communication skills – able to communicate well with leadership, peers and subordinates
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem solving skills.
  • Ability and proficiency in Microsoft Office (advanced skills in Excel and Word)


  • Work independently, handles conflict in a positive manner, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Manipulate data to drive and expedite project analyses and completion.
  • Work in a cross-functional team environment and lead cross-functional initiatives, while also building strong partner and interdepartmental relationships.
  • Display a detail oriented approach to daily activities and a self-starter attitude.
  • Ability to effectively motivate others, works with a sense of urgency, and prioritizes tasks.
  • Work is performed in a traditional office setting with moderate levels of stress and not required to lift more than 15 pounds.
  • Travel as necessary on a moderate basis.
