Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW

This position is responsible for the management of all Advanced Practice Clinicians. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the management of personnel; budget/productivity management; patient/company satisfaction; new program development, negotiation of coverage and changes with healthcare clients, policy and regulatory compliance; service and commitment to quality health care.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Maintain clinical hours as directed by Divisional Leadership (60 hours a month)
  • Advise divisional leadership regarding legal issues, legislative code and appropriate utilization and supervision of APCs providers.
  • Work with recruitment staff, FMDs and Lead APCs (LAPCs) to maintain appropriate clinical staffing and provide for orientation of new APC’s to the site-specific facility. Provides monthly update to THE Leadership on staffing levels.
  • Works with FMD and CSVP to review site-specific data including specific Quality Assurance Data and other site and company metrics in order to provide for process improvement.
  • Assists in dissemination of information to the site specific LAPCs (i.e. process changes, chart audits, statistics, customer service initiatives, patient’s complaints, etc.).
  • Attends monthly THE leadership meetings, Studer LDI and other leadership meetings as directed. Attend site specific process meetings as necessary
  • Works with THE staff to assure APC personnel maintain hospital privileges and other THE specific activities such as annual compliance training and Mine Field Navigator.
  • Works with Senior Vice Presidents, Divisional President, FMDs, CSVPs, RMDs, Hospital Management Team, colleagues, and nursing staff to facilitate communication and assist in continued teamwork development, resolution of conflicts, and new process efforts.
  • Conducts performance reviews on an annual basis for site-specific providers with LAPCs and FMD’s input.
  • Performs rounding activity on LAPCs within the THE Division.
  • Works with LAPCs and Divisional Leadership to facilitate operations, communication and community among THE APCs.
  • Work with LAPCs and PA/NP educational programs to facilitate education and training of PA/NP students when appropriate and possible.
  • Works with corporate leadership including the Chief Medical Officer to develop and maintain educational standards, orientation standards, supervision standards and corporate structure for APC Providers. Work with divisional leadership to implement and maintain corporate models for APC utilization, education and orientation.
  • Works with Divisional Leadership/FMDs/LAPCs to develop and maintain appropriate orientation materials containing Corporate/Divisional/ and local facility information                  
  • Engage as able in special projects for TeamHealth.
  • Works with SVP of Operations and Divisional CFO on budget and compensation issues as they relate to APC providers.
  • Works with SVP of Operations and Divisional CFO on budget, staffing analysis and other key issues related to new contract start-up.
  • Works with Director of Human Resources and Director of Payroll processes to develop policy and resolve issues as they relate to provider benefits and compensation.
  • Represent the THE Division on APCC.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, Master’s degree preferred but not required
  • FNP or PA with five (5) years clinic background
  • Minimum three (3) years in medical management
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Good computer skills (word-processing and spreadsheet)
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
  • Ability to meet stringent and multiple deadlines
  • Some knowledge of CPT coding, diagnosis coding, insurance carriers, billing and collection procedures
  • Ability to handle stress and conflict
