POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the posting of hospital medicine, clinic, guarantor and carrier payments.  Maintains accuracy and production.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reviews ETM task list assignment, comments, and rebills claim as necessary.
  • Posting of all groups and entities in IDX Post Receipts
  • The posting of all rejections listed on payment EOBs.
  • Reports any errors or problems that affect payments, adjustments or rejections from being applied to the invoice(s) correctly.
  • Turns to supervisor for unusual circumstances that may include recoups, adjustments, fee schedules, rejections, etc.
  • Completion of the Offset log sheet with attached copies of the EOBs for review.
  • Completion of the deposit batch tracker.
  • Reconciling deposits in Cash Clearing System.
  • Participates in team meetings.

Performs any and all duties as directed by Senior Representative, Supervisor, and Patient Accounts Manager.

 

Job Requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

SKILLS:

  • Computer literate
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently

EDUCATION:

Minimum high school diploma or equivalent

EXPERICIENCE:

Education equivalent to the completion of the 12th grade with six months to one year experience in a medical billing setting with primary emphasis on payment posting.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This job should be performed in a well-lighted and well-vented environment. Requires constant sitting tolerance.  Extended amount of time spent in front of computer display terminal.
