Job Description


The National Director of Provider Enrollment – Regional Operations is responsible for optimizing the overall provider enrollment profile for TeamHealth. This position will bring rigorous focus to the work of the Regional Provider Enrollment Directors and their teams to ensure positive direction and results related to provider hold, write offs, cycle times and other key process indicators. Collaboration with key stakeholders and communication/reports for senior leadership regarding existing provider hold balances, write offs and other significant items are vital to overall success for this functional area. 


  • Manages by metrics and identifies significant provider enrollment trends and challenges (provider revalidations, slow responses from payers). Manages issues to closure bringing in additional support and expertise if necessary (i.e. Legal, Regulatory affairs, Compliance).
  • Monitors provider hold aging profile to ensure older items are prioritized to avoid write-offs.
  • Demonstrates systematic planning to resolve to targeted payor and/or system issues.
  • Works to ensure that new business and merger/acquisition provider enrollment-related activities are managed effectively.
  • Prepares and distributes provider enrollment dashboard with meaningful metrics and commentary on changes in provider hold balances.
  • Institutes best practices to maximize quality and efficiency along with compliance regarding regulatory requirements.
  • Continuous efforts toward integrating software, automated solutions to increase efficiency and decrease cycle times.
  • Leads strategic planning efforts for provider enrollment regional operations, sets annual goals, works with team to identify impactful tactics and demonstrates proactive leadership to achieve goals.
  • Serves as a mentor for provider enrollment directors with individualized development plans, annual performance evaluations and overarching succession plans, and ensures such occurs also with provider enrollment managers and staff.
  • Collaborates with regional provider enrollment directors and Educational Services related to roles, processes and software orientation and on-going training.
  • Acts as liaison between Provider Enrollment Directors, Billing Centers, and Corporate Finance as necessary.


Job Requirements


  • Bachelor Degree (or equivalent experience) in a health care related specialty or business administration.
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years’ experience in medical billing, credentialing, or provider enrollment required.
  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal and oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment and establish and orchestrate priorities while maintaining a professional composure.
  • Excellent computer skills (word-processing, database management, spreadsheet).
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external resources and be able to meet deadlines
  • Excellent time management and problem solving skills

Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.
