Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:

This position will assist the VP, Financial Operations in providing oversight and financial leadership for the reporting, projection, budgeting and other reporting processes integral to the region.  The position will also work with company leaders in execution of strategic initiatives, standardization of programs and processes, and will aid in M&A diligence and integration processes.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages and oversees operational/financial reporting initiatives and projects
  • Coordinates development of the annual budget and monthly projections
  • Provides appropriate financial analysis used for decision-making and support
  • Oversees, participates in and ensures accuracy of physician compensation
  • Works with leadership in the review of compensation plans to align with overall goals
  • Aids in the development, implementation and follow-up of financial and operational initiatives
  • Performs financial modeling and analysis as directed by the VP
  • Performs various financial analysis, related to profitability of new and existing business, contract billing and revenue
  • Prepares variance explanation against projected (budgeted) amounts
  • Works within budget constraints
  • Manages and monitors cost control
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction provided
  • Stays abreast and informed of applicable laws and regulatory changes
  • Other duties or projects or duties as needed or assigned by management

 

Job Requirements

 

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in management sciences, business or related field
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (ability to create and work with pivot tables, write formulas, chart customization, v-lookups, etc.)
  • Resourcefulness, ingenuity, strong decision making and problem solving skills
  • Advanced financial modeling and research skills
  • Well-developed and proven analytical skills including business planning, financial analysis, and business unit reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks
  • Experience as a strategic thinker who can effectively translate strategies into financial plans
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, flows and processes required
  • Experience with revenue recognition, margin analysis, budgeting, and planning,
  • The ability to use multiple problem-solving tools and techniques
  • Minimum of eight to ten years of work experience in finance/accounting, with a minimum of five years specific to financial analysis
  • Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
  • Ability to communicate findings in a clear and concise way
  • Demonstrated initiative with the commitment and ability to meet deadlines
  • Extensive financial modeling experience utilizing Microsoft Excel; familiarity with data query/data management tools helpful (Microsoft Access, SQL, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Hyperion and Essbase desired

Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.
