Under the direction of the Vice President, Compliance, the Compliance Manager is responsible for assisting in the implementation and ongoing management of the TeamHealth Compliance Program. This position will assist in the development and implementation of all facets of the Compliance Program, including, but not limited to policies and procedures, training, the Compliance Risk Assessment process, the investigation of compliance concerns, and compliance due diligence on new acquisitions. In addition, they will respond to compliance-related inquiries and will serve as a point of contact for compliance matters. The Compliance Manager will stay up-to-date on Federal and State privacy regulations, industry and compliance trends, recommend changes to internal processes as needed, and implement changes as directed.


  • Maintain a working knowledge of relevant compliance laws, rules, and regulations governing the healthcare services furnished by TeamHealth clinicians.
  • Stay current on relevant industry and government compliance program guidance, investigations, and audits.
  • Serve as a compliance resource for questions, concerns, and guidance.
  • Assist with the development, distribution, and implementation of compliance forms, documents, policies, and training materials.
  • Provide compliance training.
  • Participate in the planning and performance of the compliance risk assessment process.
  • Participate in the development of the Annual Compliance Work Plan and related documents.
  • Perform compliance audits/reviews.
  • Prepare, conduct, and document compliance investigations and corrective action plans.
  • Respond to, monitor, track and report on compliance-related activities as assigned.
  • Participate in the review of current and proposed programs, services, initiatives, and partnerships to identify and mitigate compliance risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other functional areas to modify processes as needed to address compliance risks.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, as needed.
  • Effectively interact and communicate with all TeamHealth Associates.


Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Current professional compliance certification (e.g. CHC).
  • Minimum five years’ experience in healthcare with minimum three years’ experience in healthcare risk, law, or compliance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to the healthcare provider industry to include Stark, Anti-kickback, and EMTALA.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the compliance risk areas associated with the healthcare provider industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the recommended elements of a compliance program, along with an understanding of how the elements operate effectively in concert.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information while maintaining an exceptional level of ethical business conduct.
  • Ability to translate complex rules, regulations, and compliance issues into terms readily understood by TeamHealth Associates at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues, develop solutions, and manage issues through to resolution.
  • Ability to use Internet/Intranet, web-based databases and Microsoft applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining collaborative work relationships internally and externally.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to organize resources and establish priorities.
  • Ability to adapt to growth and work in a fast-paced corporate environment.
