JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:

A high-visibility role with the opportunity to use healthcare analytics to effectuate considerable change in TeamHealth, this position is responsible for working directly with the SVP of Strategic Initiatives, Group Presidents, Regional & Facility Medical Directors, Operations Leaders, Project Managers, and Business Analysts to advance quality of care, improve operational efficiency, and elevate provider satisfaction through business intelligence, statistical analysis, and data visualization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • As a founding member of an enterprise-wide Finance & Analytics center of excellence, serve as the analytics leader for one or more strategic initiatives
  • Focus on all stages of the data science life cycle: business understanding, data mining, data cleaning, data exploration, feature engineering, predictive modeling, and data visualization
  • Synthesize and analyze data from multiple, diverse datasets and within a variety of environments to deliver meaningful insight from unstructured objectives
  • Enhance decision making and improve processes through systematized scripts, statistical analysis, predictive models, and data visualization
  • Solve complex problems and propose “elegantly simple” solutions by drawing inference from data, thinking critically, and developing & analyzing multiple scenarios
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • Undergraduate degree, with a strong preference for a technical degree
  • Two to three years of work experience in a data-driven professional setting, ideally in healthcare, as a data scientist or data/business analyst
  • Data analysis experience in Python and SQL, and experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI
  • Demonstrated propensity for analytical methodologies and desire to solve novel technical challenges
  • Ability to adapt to new challenges in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects
  • Intellectually curious self-starter who can work independently or as part of a team and prioritize deliverables & meet deadlines with minimal oversight
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Strong command of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills (oral and written) required

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • None

PHYSICAL / ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Job performed in a well-lighted, modern office setting.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying (10 pounds or less).
  • Prolonged sitting; with prolonged work in a computer/PC.
  • Occasional work in evenings and on weekends.
  • Infrequent travel (out-of-town and overnight).
  • If working from home, must have appropriate office space that is presentable on video conferences.

This position may require manual dexterity and/or frequent use of the computer, telephone, office machines (copier, scanner, fax) and/or the ability to perform repetitive motions and/or meet production standards to comply with the essential functions. Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.
