Job Description


This position works with the Value-based Care (VBC) Operations team to define and execute value-based care initiatives with use of healthcare analytics, data management, and business insights. The Value-based Care Data Analyst will be working with a fast-paced, data-forward team charged with successful management of value-based care initiatives for TeamHealth’s operational groups. The Value-based Care Data Analyst will create operational insights, monitor process efficiency, support operational communication efforts, and feed performance improvement strategy.


  • Focus on all stages of the data science life cycle: business understanding, data mining, data cleaning, data exploration, feature engineering, predictive modeling, and data visualization
  • Tracks, maintains and ensures the integrity of data from management systems. Works collaboratively with leaders and staff to research, diagnose, and develop recommendations to resolve issues related to reporting to enhance current and anticipated work processes as needed.
  • Synthesize and analyze data from multiple, diverse datasets and within a variety of environments to deliver meaningful insight from unstructured objectives
  • Enhance decision making and improve processes through systematized scripts, statistical analysis, predictive models, and data visualization
  • Solve complex problems and propose “elegantly simple” solutions by drawing inference from data, thinking critically, and developing & analyzing multiple scenarios
  • Identifies and documents stakeholder/business requirements necessary to support business operations activities, and lead approved initiatives, projects, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements


  • Undergraduate degree, with a strong preference for a technical degree
  • Two to three years of work experience in a data-driven professional setting, ideally in healthcare, as a data/business analyst
  • Data analysis experience in Python and SQL, and experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI
  • Demonstrated propensity for analytical methodologies and desire to solve novel technical challenges
  • Ability to adapt to new challenges in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects
  • Intellectually curious self-starter who can work independently or as part of a team and prioritize deliverables & meet deadlines with minimal oversight
    • Keen attention to detail
    • Strong command of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
    • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills (oral and written) required
