Position Overview 

The Clerk is an entry-level position, and is responsible for provide clerical support to the billing center.

Essential Functions 

  • Assist in preparation for mailing of claims
  • Search and print EOBs as required
  • Retrieve, copy, sort, and file various patient related information
  • Process address changes, including scanning bad addresses
  • Organize and prepare patient records and reports for off-site storage
  • Print and match medical records using OnBase
  • Process reports as necessary
  • Provide coverage on main switchboard for breaks and vacations
  • Perform Claim Edits as necessary
  • Distribute correspondence to various departments
  • Maintain files
  • Additional clerical duties as assigned


Job Requirements

Qualifications / Experience 

  • Must be able to type 35 WPM and 10-key 8,000 KPH with 95% accuracy
  • Must be computer literate
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and production-based environment
  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
