Job Description

The Associate Regional Medical Director (ARMD) is charged with overseeing the provision of services to clients, including clinical service delivery, and fiscal affairs related to their book of business

  • These responsibilities include: provision of leadership, coordination of Clinical Leaders and Clinical Educators, and/or medical directors, and participation in the business development effort in the region.
  • Works in a paired leadership model with a VPO/SVPO. The ARMD is the primary TeamHealth contact with the hospital and/or hospital system leaders in General Surgery and works with TeamHealth’s Hospital Based Services leadership.
  • Serves as primary driver for obtaining client and TeamHealth operating and service delivery goals to include patient satisfaction, working closely with the VPO, Clinical Leader, Clinical Educator, and Facility Leadership.
  • Assures Clinical Leaders are rounding on a monthly basis and reporting outcomes as appropriate
  • Participate and support recruiting efforts.
  • Participation and responsibility for implementation of recommendations from quarterly practice review process.
  • Responsible for leading provider retention strategies related to their service line
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree with board certification in General Surgery.
  • 2 years’ experience in General Surgery practice.
  • Experience managing physicians in an organized group.
  • A reputation for quality outcomes; credibility as a clinician with experience in practice for an extended period of time following training.
  • Proven expertise, experience and skills gained within an organization known for its excellent clinical care and quality outcomes.
