Job Description


Under direct supervision of the Oracle Director, the Oracle Exceptions Assistant is responsible for working the Oracle Exceptions assigned to the RC Dept, working the CB to Oracle patient mis-matches, Home Health Data Entry into Oracle, gHeriMed and IngeniousMed addendums,  Billing Error Reports and TES edits assigned to the RC Dept This position enters charges into Oracle, makes charge corrections as related to CPT or place of service changes in Oracle and the billing system that are sent directly from the provider, the regional office staff, TeamHealth Compliance or the TeamHealth Coding Team. The position works in a cooperative team environment to provide value to customers (internal and external).  The Oracle Exceptions Assistant carries out his/her duties by adhering to the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct, acts in the best interest of TeamHealth and fully supports TeamHealth’s focus on supporting its physicians while following the billing center policies and procedures.


Job Requirements


  • Responsible for working the Oracle Exceptions assigned to the RC Dept.
  • Responsible for working the CB to Oracle patient mis-matches.
  • Responsible for working gHeriMed and IngeniousMed addendums.
  • Responsible for working billing error reports.
  • Responsible for working TES edits assigned to the RC Dept.
  • Responsible for charge entry into Oracle and Oracle charge corrections as related to CPT or place of service changes. 
  • Responsible for CB invoice updates related to any Oracle charge changes.
  • Responsible for all daily productivity reporting requirements.
  • Maintains and exceeds department standards for productivity and quality.
  • Maintains knowledge of internal denial codes.

  • Approximately one+ years of experience with data entry processes within a multi-facility environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, some college coursework preferred.
  • Demonstrated success working in a team environment focused on meeting organization goals and objectives is necessary.
  • Basic knowledge of CPT codes, place of service as it relates to insurance claims.
  • Knowledge of health insurance correspondence denial processing.
  • Knowledge of insurance rejection/denial processing to perform follow up activity.
  • Understanding of physician billing guidelines for commercial and government payers in multiple states.
  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities and follow through without direct supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven analytical skills and ability to work in a structured, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in working with billing systems, GE experience is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Word.
  • Must be organized, detail oriented, and meticulous with all tasks.



  • May require the manual dexterity and/or frequent use of the computer, telephone, 10-key, calculator, office machines (copier, scanner, fax) and/or the ability to perform repetitive motions to comply with the essential functions.
  • Requires the physical and/or mental stamina to meet production and quality standards to comply with the essential functions.
  • May require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week with mandatory overtime as directed by Management.
  • Requires the ability to conform to standards for attendance.
  • Job performed in a well-lighted, modern office setting.
  • Prolonged work on a PC/computer and telephone.
  • Occasional standing/bending.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying.
  • Prolonged sitting.
