The Coding Senior is responsible for monitoring the daily batch inventory and production, ensuring Team Health coding guidelines are followed and productivity and quality assurance standards are met.                                 


  • Serves as a resource for coding questions
  • Reviews and requests new CPT codes to be added to IDX
  • Reviews and requests new physicians to be added to IDX
  • Assists supervisors in with process analysis and improvement
  • Assists with workflow and meeting department goals
  • Assists leadership to ensure month-end close schedules are completed on time
  • Works assigned TES files


Job Requirements


  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum two (2) years medical coding experience, emergency medicine preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, regulatory requirements and physician billing
  • Proficiency in ICD-9 diagnostic coding and CPT procedural coding
  • CPC or CCS-p certification preferred
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills.
