Job Description


This position’s primary responsibility relates to providing credentialing, risk and malpractice support to TeamHealth’s various service lines. In addition, this position provides support during mission-critical efforts, such as mergers and acquisitions, contract start-ups, regulatory changes requiring immediate action and disaster responsiveness. This position helps to support risk, compliance, legal and malpractice to ensure compliance with TeamHealth policies and procedures along with client, state and federal regulatory requirements. This position also facilitates the gathering and analyzing data and providing summaries and reports to key operational leaders. Demonstrates detailed process and software knowledge while intentionally striving for innovative and transformative ways to positively influence the clinician and client’s experience and achieve identified metrics for this functional area.


  • Responds to and provides assistance and support to the various service line’s credentials teams
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the importance of the end-to-end processing and handoffs related to newly hired clinicians as well as maintenance activities of existing clinicians
  • Collaborates with process owners upstream and downstream of Credentialing in order to effectively and efficiently serve our clinicians, clients and organization
  • Provides assistance and support to other departments including but not limited to, Compliance, Malpractice, Legal and Risk Management
  • Prioritizes tasks and facilitate operations support activities based on regional needs, business development start-ups, regulatory changes, and/or mergers and acquisitions
  • Assists with Help Desk tickets related to credentials and risk management
  • Assists with documentation of software enhancements, business need requirements and testing related to Credentials and Risk Management
  • Follows TeamHealth policies, procedures, and protocols in order to ensure accuracy, completeness, and efficiency of credentialing coordination processes
  • Updates provider database and physical files as needed
  • Generates and/or creates reports to analyze data (staffing analysis, progress reports, scorecards, trending reports, etc.) in order to spot opportunities and risks related to daily operations, special projects and monthly/annual goals
  • Leads, coordinates, reviews and monitors regional analytics and operational standards
  • Performs all other duties as assigned (this may include tasks in other functional areas)


Job Requirements


  • Two (2) years of college (Bachelor’s degree, preferably);
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a provider enrollment or credentials;
  • Ability to work with minimal direct supervision
  • Ability to use independent judgement to manage and impart confidential information
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external resources to meet deadlines
  • Ability to adapt to flexible work schedules and frequent interruptions;
  • Ability to critically troubleshoot, prioritize, and problem solve to professionally respond to ad hoc requests and unexpected circumstances, demands and challenges
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet demanding and recurring deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to professionally navigate when working with colleagues and leaders who have competing business priorities
  • Program planning and implementation skills
  • Database management skills including querying, reporting and document generation
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and draw inferences from findings and prepare reports
  • Working knowledge of clinical and/or hospital credentials or credentials coordination operations (preferred)
  • Lean process improvement experience preferred but not required
  • Intermediate/Advanced computer skills (word-processing, spreadsheet, database management) with proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Sharp attention to detail including accurate data entry
  • Demonstrated ability to provide professional, high-level customer service
  • Driven by team environment with a desire and willingness to contribute beyond specific and routine assignments

Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.
