Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible for ensuring malpractice renewals and certificates are issued and maintained according to policy/carrier and broker processes. Ensuring appropriate communication and documentation occurs in all software systems while communicating with all internal and external stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Issue malpractice certificates as requested and/or needed
  • Review, research and analyze certificate request to ensure accurate and correct certificates are requested and issued
  • Manages renewal process
  • Manage upper and lower limits process and spreadsheet
  • Be a subject matter expert on the process and software
  • Understand malpractice carrier regulations and processes
  • Know and manage malpractice renewal schedules and proactively work with regions to ensure renewal process is followed
  • Coordinate with regional offices on renewals to ensure timely and accurate renewals
  • Provide guidance and assistance to the regions on questions
  • Provide necessary education to regions
  • Understand Patient Compensation Fund (PCF) states and processes
  • Work with treasury to ensure timelines are created and followed
  • Develop internal and external relationships
  • Maintain Carrier Rosters as Needed
  • Manage OnBase Upload of annual renewals
  • Update Carrier applications in AppGen
  • Add Carrier, Policy, and Renewal information in TeamWorks
  • Ensure malpractice policy invoices are approved and paid timely
  • Evaluate current process and look for improvement areas
  • Identify areas of innovation and technological improvements

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • Two (2) years of college (Bachelor’s degree, preferably);
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a provider enrollment or credentials position;
  • Ability to work with minimal direct supervision
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external resources and be able to meet deadlines
  • Ability to adapt to flexible work schedules and frequent interruptions;
  • Ability to problem solve, make decisions, and effectively communicate decisions;
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Data entry accuracy
  • Proficient computer skills (word-processing, spreadsheet, database management)
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • None

PHYSICAL / ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Job performed in a well-lighted, modern office setting;
  • Moderate travel required (may be frequent at times)
  • Occasional lifting/carrying (15 pounds or less);
  • Moderate to high stress level;
  • Prolonged sitting;
  • Prolonged computer/PC;
  • Prolonged telephone use;
  • Prolonged work hours (occasional evenings, weekends)

This position may require manual dexterity and/or frequent use of the computer, telephone, 10-key, calculator, office machines (copier, scanner, fax) and/or the ability to perform repetitive motions and/or meet production standards to comply with the essential functions. Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.
