JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:

TeamHealth is aligning its healthcare data assets, products, and intelligence together to provide scalable value to the business. We need a detail-oriented, team player and rock star Manager – Coding Analysis to join our Revenue Strategic Solutions team.

The Management position will be responsible for analyzing, maintaining, and enhancing one of our core medical coding applications.  This role works closely with the Billing Centers as a Business Partner to evaluate current medical coding practices within TeamHealth and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Partner with TeamHealth Billing Centers to improve efficiency and productivity on current medical coding practices through the use of our medical coding application (Armor).
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to improve template matching accuracy through Armor, considering format variations on medical documentation.
  • Lead and monitor template matching automation processes to drive consistent quality data outcomes to meet business needs.
  • Serve as a liaison between TeamHealth’s Billing Centers and IT teams to optimize overall medical coding practices through automation.
  • Combine best medical coding operational practices with tech savviness to reach solutions.
  • Manage Armor’s ICE HELP support ticketing process. Proactively follow up and communicate with stakeholders on open items.
  • Lead IT Analyst team on issue resolution practices. Provide tier 1 and tier 2 support including troubleshooting break-fix issues, assisting with template configuration requests, and answering application-related questions to internal users.
  • Serve as a coach for cross-training and collaborating on knowledge transfer with team members and coworkers on Armor template resolution and overall issue resolution practices as needed.

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:         

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree desired in either a Health Information or Health- related field with combined education or related experience in Computer Science or Information Services.
  • Certified medical coder with one of the following certifications: CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H or CPMA from AAPC or CCA. CCSP is highly desirable.
  • 5 + years of practical proven experience in medical coding practices (Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS), International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision, Clinical Modification (ICD-10-CM)
  • 5 + years of experience on scripting, automation, and content transformation through the use of regular expressions (RegEx)
  • 3 - 5 + years of experience in a Technical Support or System Admin role.
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuous improvement practices and team work.
  • Possess strong people skills and be detail-oriented. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
