Overview

Clinical Education Manager will, in conjunction with the Director of Education, help to develop, deliver, and supervise employee orientation. This position fulfills a supportive role in the preparation of the telephone nurse triage consultant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervision of clinical staff as instructed by the Director of Education, throughout all aspects of training
  • Assign and oversee preceptor monitoring duties during orientation period and as needed within employees first 90 days
  • Responsible for managing and monitoring of clinical staff during the first 90 days of employment
  • Collaborates with Clinical Service Managers to facilitate transition of nurse from orientation to formal clinical role
  • Provides performance feedback and coaching to staff based on quality monitoring and productivity for employees during first 90 days of employment
  • Monitor and track attendance within first 90 days of employment.
  • Performs as a telephone triage nurse to maintain skill set and a strong understanding of call handling processes and software
  • Maintain training records and in-service attendance rosters
  • Perform quality monitoring of recorded calls for the employees during first 90-days of employment
  • Provide feedback to the Clinical Team on a regular basis
  • Conduct 30, 60 and 90-day performance evaluation in conjunction with assigned clinical service manager
  • Works with Training and Education Manager develop client specific training necessary to meet the client’s service needs
  • During times of reduced hiring and training demands, will assist QI Manager with auditing, complaint research, feedback and any other areas where support is needed as outlined by the QI Manager
  • Serve on the QI Committee
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings
  • Maintain positive relationships with interdepartmental team members

Job Requirements

Qualifications/Experience

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a current active Registered Nurse licensure
  • Minimum of five years of experience in healthcare, preferably in managerial capacity with a proven track record of success
  • Prefer 2-3 years of experience in telephonic nursing
  • Proficient and skilled in using computer technology (i.e. MS Office, Power Point, Excel, etc.)
  • Knowledge in Informatics preferred
  • Ability to handle stress and conflict
  • Capable of prioritizing and organizing
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good judgment and decision making skills
  • Good problem-solving/analytical skills
  • Ability to manage and direct others
