Overview
The Patient Accounts Representative is responsible for processing insurance and patient payments for their assigned regions either manually or electronically. The position is responsible for balancing batches against daily deposits and maintaining daily production reports.
Essentials Duties and Responsibilities
- Processing payments for insurance companies and patients either electronically or manually within established timeframe
- Posting payment batches including denials within established timeframe and balancing batches against daily deposits
- Provide supporting documentation for each payment transaction through submission of the daily control number report and daily production log for all batches (manual and electronic)
- Maintains knowledge of all policy and procedures
- Participates in unit progress meetings
- Turns to Supervisor for unusual circumstances
- Performs any and all duties as directed by management
- Highly preferred to participate in 12 weeks of on-site training with the option to go fully remote after quality and production standards are met
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 6 months previous medical billing experience preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Computer literate
