This is a hybrid position based in Knoxville, TN, with a combination of in-office and remote work.

Project Overview

TeamHealth's Clinical Strategic Pillars help to define, promote, and deploy service-line operational excellence in:

  • Clinical Quality, Patient Safety, and Risk
  • Clinic Operations
  • Patient Experience
  • Management and Leadership

Across the healthcare industry there continues to be a strong need for clinicians to fill-in areas where demand for services exceed the availability of labor. This can be felt from staffing shortages or lack of supply to work in specific areas. To counteract this shortage, temporary labor, or Locums, is used at a higher cost compared to a full-time or part-time contracted position. Locums and the additional costs incurred with the temporary demand are referred to as Premium Labor and can contribute to the overall increase in costs in operations for healthcare facilities.
The intern will support efforts to analyze staffing workflows, identify drivers of premium labor utilization, map current‑state processes, and recommend opportunities to reduce unnecessary cost while supporting quality and patient outcomes.
