Job Requirements of IT Business Analyst:
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE/:- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or related field
- 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst preferably in a data engineering or analytics environment
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Strong understanding of data concepts such as ETL/ELT, data warehousing, data lakes, and data modeling
- Proficiency in creating business requirements documents (BRDs), user stories, process flows, and data dictionaries
- Experience with data platforms such as Snowflake, SQL databases, or cloud-based data systems
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills

OVERVIEW:
We are seeking self-driven individual to fill a hybrid Business Analyst/Project Manager role on our Data Engineering team. This role will be a critical bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders. In this role, you will gather, analyze, and document data requirements, work closely with data engineers on solution design, and ensure the successful delivery of high-impact data products that power analytics, reporting, and healthcare decision-making across the organization.The BA/PM will support the team in building scalable data pipelines, understanding data needs, aligning deliverables with business objectives, and ensuring solutions meet compliance and quality standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Requirements Gathering & Analysis
- Work with stakeholders across business units (clinical, finance, operations, etc.) to capture and document clear, actionable data requirements
- Translate business needs into functional specifications for the data engineering team, including source-to-target mappings, data definitions, and transformation rules
- Collaborate with data engineers and architects to design scalable, accurate, and efficient data solutions
Data Validation & Testing
- Develop test cases and validate data deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with business expectations
- Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT), troubleshooting, and issue resolution throughout the development lifecycle
- Act as the liaison between the data engineering team and business stakeholders to ensure clarity, transparency, and alignment throughout projects
- Support sprint planning, backlog grooming, and progress tracking using the Agile methodology
- Maintain documentation such as business process flows, data dictionaries, and technical handoffs
- Help identify data quality issues, gaps, or inefficiencies and recommend improvements
- Participate in data governance initiatives by documenting metadata, lineage, and business definitions
- Support strategic initiatives like data platform modernization, reporting automation, and data product development
