Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW

The Technical Data Analyst serves as the subject matter expert for data flow and data integration between enterprise healthcare systems supporting clinician services. The Analyst works with business partners, the lean process automation team, and the technical delivery team to establish alignment between EIT and business partners on data flow requirements and implementation strategy. The Analyst creates and maintains business glossaries, data flow diagrams, and other integration documentation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for data flow and data integration between enterprise healthcare systems. Expected to maintain a deep understanding of the business processes and data managed by each system and how data in one system relates to other systems.
  • Serve as a liaison between business and technical resources, effectively bridging technical and business languages, viewpoints, and capabilities to create a clear, shared understanding of data flow and data integration requirements.
  • Create and maintain business glossaries, data flow diagrams, and other integration documentation (from high-level architecture to detailed field level for different audiences).
  • Work with internal engineering teams and external vendors to understand available data integration options.
  • Develop metrics and measures to effectively track and monitor the performance of data integration implementations.
  • Identify data quality issues and help implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Assist in data integration activities for M&A acquisitions. Validate field mapping for data migration from acquired systems into established platforms.
  • Work with internal engineering teams and external vendors to understand future solution changes and how those changes will impact existing data flows and data integrations
  • Work with business partners and lean process automation team members to document and validate data flow and data integration requirements.
  • Identify detailed data requirements from business partners and external vendors through interviews, documentation, facilitated working sessions, and end user observation
  • Work with technical business analyst and software engineering team to refine and manage requirements documentation for backlog items, features, and epics.
  • Maintain a solid working knowledge of EIT capabilities in order to deliver the best solutions to business problems.
  • Work directly with others to navigate project roadblocks and mediate between EIT and business partner priorities.
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating skills by participating in educational opportunities consistent with the technologies and methodologies established at TeamHealth.
  • Responsible for completion of all documentation processes and project and time tracking efforts in a timely manner.

Job Requirements

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, computer science, healthcare or related field preferred.
  • Experience in enterprise healthcare process analysis, applications and solutions is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience creating business glossaries and data flow diagrams (DFDs).
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills required, including the ability to work diplomatically with a diverse workforce.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in coordinating simultaneous assignments by assessing project deadlines, establishing work priorities, and coordinating personal work schedules.
  • Resourcefulness, ingenuity, and creative problem solving.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills accompanied by flexibility to quickly adapt to a changing business environment.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

  • Duties are performed in a modern office setting.
  • May require some occasional work in the evenings and on weekends.
  • Prolonged sitting, with prolonged work on a PC.
  • May require some light travel.

This position may require manual dexterity and/or frequent use of the computer, telephone, 10-key, calculator, office machines (copier, scanner, and fax) and/or the ability to perform repetitive motions and/or meet production standards to comply with the essential functions. Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.
