Job Description


The Tax Associate is responsible for assisting with the preparation of federal and state income tax returns, including quarterly estimates and extensions under the supervision of Tax Department managers. Responsibilities also include the preparation of other tax returns, assisting with data gathering and analysis, state audits, tax notices and FAS 109 compliance as well as maintaining computer-based tax information, databases and tax workpaper documentation.


  •  Prepare various federal and state corporate returns
  • Maintain workpapers in support of the tax returns
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly tax provisions
  • Assist with tax calculations for estimates and projections
  • Gather data needed for state audits
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned


Job Requirements


  • Bachelors in Accounting (with an emphasis in Tax or Masters in Tax preferred)
  • One (1) to two (2) years in public accounting or industry experience
  • Tax compliance experience; or, results-oriented entry level professional
  • Proficient with MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook and Access, OneSource or other tax return software
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Detail oriented with strong analytic and problem solving skills
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.
