The Senior Patient Services Representative is responsible for training new employees of the Patient Services department and performing continued education on established employees. The Patient Services Senior will verify that HCFS and AKBC policies and job aids are followed through monthly quality assurance audits.


  • Train new employees.
  • Continued education of established employees.
  • Conduct monthly QA audits.
  • Research all escalated webs and escalated issues from NPSC.
  • Reviews and completes escalated invoices in ETM.
  • Assists with writing and implementation of the department’s policies and procedures.
  • Handles accounts from representatives that may require supervisor’s assistance.
  • Communicates and provides follow-up on departmental issues with Patient Services Supervisor.
  • Assist in weekly assignments and recording production when needed.
  • Maintain harmonious personnel relations.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is necessary.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by Management.


Job Requirements


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 12 months previous medical billing experience required with emphasis on patient relations.
  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet scheduled deadlines.
  • IDX-BAR proficiency required.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and follow-up skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Set in a pleasant, high-volume, fast-paced office environment. Involves extensive computer use and call volume.

Voluntary overtime offered on occasion.

This position may require manual dexterity and/or frequent use of the computer, telephone, 10-key, calculator, office machines (copier, scanner, and fax) and/or the ability to perform repetitive motions and/or meet production standards to comply with the essential functions. Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.
