Position Overview

The Patient Accounts Senior is responsible for assisting with the training of new employees, monitoring production and monthly staff audits, and posting of payments to patient accounts.

Essential Functions 

  • Post payments and adjustments to patients’ accounts from patient statements, remittance advices, all carriers and electronic downloads, including collections accounts
  • Monitor, research, and resolve unidentified payments
  • Perform quality audits on staff members
  • Assist in training newly hired employees and providing remedial training to existing team members
  • Ensure batches are closed on a daily basis
  • Review errors made by reps and review corrections to prevent further issues
  • Provide leadership, instructions and feedback to reps
  • Report issues to Supervisor and department Manager as needed
  • Act as resource for all Patient Accounts Reps

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications / Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of experience posting medical payments OR 3 years of general medical billing experience
  • Must be able to type a minimum of 35 WPM and 10-key 8,000 KPH with 95% accuracy
  • Must be able to read and understand an EOB
  • Must have excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Preferred prior experience in a team lead or supervisor role
