Job Description

This position requires specialized knowledge and skills in the coordination of scheduling for providers associated with Anesthesiology.  Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinates with Recruiters to ensure effective date privileges are granted to a provider so that they have the ability to be scheduled for shifts. 
  • Schedule anesthesia clinicians at multiple hospitals and surgery facilities
  • Oversees scheduling of all staff by providing support for new contracts and staffing shortages.
  • Oversees provider PTO request/process to ensure coverage is filled, and if not, begins to initiate other resources.
  • Notifies clinicians, operating room personnel, and other scheduling staff of cancellations or added cases timely
  • Confirm cases and ensure efficient scheduling of cases to maximize productivity
  • Works closely with Recruiters to monitor new hire process and serve as liaison to update provider’s availability and status including confirmation notices to the locums company.

  • Participates in an integrated team and works as a responsible team member. 
  • Assists in the facilitation of the team process at TeamHealth Anesthesia by serving as an active member of the team. This includes attending all team related meetings; participating in developing and implementing company wide and team goals; participating in problem-solving and decision making; supporting corporate and TeamHealth Anesthesia management decisions; being flexible and adaptable to change; establishing trust and respect for other team members; placing team needs first; and by completing all necessary training. 
  • Follows the norms and guidelines established by the team for communication, production, efficiency, conflict resolution, decision-making, problem-solving, and interpersonal relations.

Job Requirements

The job qualifications for this position are as follows: 

  • Associates degree or 2+ years of formal post-secondary education required
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered
  • Experience with healthcare scheduling of multiple facilities and staff
  • 1-3 years of surgery or anesthesia scheduling experience preferred
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and decision making
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Healthcare or hospital experience required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office, Database management)
  • Results driven with ability to offer solutions/problem solver
  • Must be strategic thinking and provides effective communication
  • Ability to meet deadlines and capable of working in a high stress environment
  • Ability to work in a team
