Position Summary:

This high level Quality professional plays an active role in deploying Quality methodology and tools, facilitating improvement, assisting regulatory compliance and collaborating with TeamHealth Anesthesia to achieve dramatic improvement in key business processes. Assist in coaching leaders in the purpose and their use of Quality Improvement (QI) methods and analysis. Assist in educating leadership and staff in the use of tools and methods to achieve broad organizational competency and confidence in process and performance improvement methods and tools.

The Quality Improvement Specialist is responsible for performing and/or documenting quality reviews bases on departmental procedures and contributes to standardizing the quality review approach to be in compliance of contractual, State, and Federal requirements.

The Quality Improvement Specialist will be known for their ability to create excitement, camaraderie and the desire for excellence in those with whom they work They quality Improvement Specialist will report to the Director of Quality, with interaction expected among all levels of TeamHealth Anesthesia hospital based employee, medical staff, corporate IT and external agencies as warranted.

 

 

 ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Focuses on identifying, recommending and implementing a standardized approach to performing and scoring quality audits.
  • Examines and evaluates the accuracy of transactions processed by reviewing policy, procedure and manual input in accordance with guidelines.
  • Tracks, trends and reports audit results to management.
  • Identifies and communicates training issues and assists in developing corrective action plans.
  • Runs and monitors monthly reports from database to identify and/or correct any incorrect data.
  • Daily management of performance improvement groups.
  • Provides support for QM project tracking and project status reporting.
  • Prepares performance reports, such as PIP, QIP, and CCIP.
  • Assists in recording of workgroups, schedule meetings, distribute materials, record and transcribe meeting minutes as needed.

 

JOB RELATED SKILLS:

Proficient in use of Microsoft Office particularly Excel spreadsheets

Relevant long-term experience, knowledge of CMS regulatory and Joint Commission requirements

Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify, interpret and analyze discoveries

Ability to perform various types tasks and manage projects concurrently in a fast paced highvolume environment

Demonstrated ability to handle matters proactively while attending to details and ensuring timelycompletion of projects

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with ability to interacteffectively with multiple levels including physicians, clinical personnel, administrative staff, andother

High degree of initiative, creativity, and willingness to accept responsibility from various sources

 

Job Requirements

Position Requirements:

Bachelors Degree Preferred

Experience: Must have at least 5 years experience in a Healthcare Quality setting.  Perioperative/Surgical/Anesthesia experience preferred; Integrated analytical data management experience a plus.
