JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:

This position provides support to local operations of the Hospital Medicine program including achievement of the program’s daily goals, and establishing positive customer service relationships with the hospital and community, including client service support for contracted and employed practitioners. This position is full time non-exempt with a salary range based on experience of 39k-50k.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Medical Director and Operations Team with the daily operation of the site specific program and service commitments to hospital and patients. Work at the program level at client facility every day.
  • Liaison with practice and business office staff to resolve issues and outstanding problems in the area of A/R management and Revenue Cycle process.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationship with hospital staff and management. Maintain an 'open door' policy with hospital management.
  • Review metrics to identify trend or areas of focus to develop, document and implement action plans to address issues on outstanding A/R.
  • Monitor physician documentation including completion of charts. Under direction of Medical Director, coordinate training when needed.
  • Orient new physicians joining the program. Coordinate tours of the facility, introductions, and obtain necessary paperwork.
  • Provide guidance and training to assigned staff members and assure that policy and procedures are adhered to as outlined in the business office and employee manuals
  • Support financial goals of the company by being fiscally responsible in all areas, including staffing and purchasing.
  • Develop and implement practice specific process improvement recommendations to secure positive results.
  • Ensure clinical compliance, regulatory compliance and safety/privacy regulations are maintained at all times.
  • Other duties as required and assigned by the Operations Manager or Director. These may, be unrelated to the position described here

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • AA or BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Experience in Medical Office Management a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a multiple provider practice setting at the coordinator or supervisory level required.
  • Must have medical scheduling and billing management experience in a practice and/or hospital setting.
  • Substantial experience interacting with physicians and hospital administration required.
  • Considerable experience coordinating practice efforts with hospitals ideal.
  • Must have proven ability to support multiple projects and work with multiple people simultaneously.
  • Advanced computer skills required.
  • Must have ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Must have exposure and experience with health care technology (EMR, Coding software and Practice Management Information Systems), business finances and budgets to aid in the cost management of the program.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Efficient organization and time management
