JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:

This position is an integral team member of the Chart Capture Operations team within Health Care Financial Services of TeamHealth; primary responsibilities include working with VP of Chart Capture Operations, management and affiliate staff to provide management, statistical and operational reporting to support business goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create, maintain and distribute meaningful and regularly timed reports
    • Compiles data from various sources; cleans and formats data into meaningful reports; updates reports as needed
    • Analyzes various reports and performance measures looking for trends and outliers.
    • Develop and implement new reporting tools, and train personnel to use them
    • Organizes reports and related documents, maintaining proper version control
    • Assist leadership with ad-hoc reporting by pulling data from various sources and compiling it in an aesthetic and meaningful way
  • Participate in design, implementation, and evaluation of process improvement activities and efforts
  • Collaboratively works with leaders and employees to research, diagnose, and develop recommendations to resolve organizational problems and enhance current and anticipated work processes, as needed
  • Contributes ideas and opinions about strategic issues for consideration to the Chart Capture team, including collecting and analyzing relevant data
  • Prepares summary findings and report interpretations to present to leadership and/or clients. Displays and communicates data in a clear and concise format.
  • Develops and updates policies and procedures, as needed

 

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management Sciences, Business or related field preferred;
  • One to Two years of experience in corporate or operational reporting/analysis; proven skill accomplishments preparing and communicating models, trend analysis, operational metrics, etc., and making recommendations to leadership; statistical process control (SPC) experience a plus
  • Advanced computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel (ability to create and work with pivot tables, write complex formulas, advanced chart customization, etc.,)required; experience with reporting tools such as Tableau/Cognos preferred
  • Intermediate computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Impeccable attention to detail when following set instructions and reviewing reports for accuracy
  • Ability to work well with others, and work with minimal direction/supervision
  • Ability to work iteratively, accepting feedback and critique in a courteous manner
  • Ability to quickly learn new concepts and technical skills with a willingness to learn new software and to maintain momentum to create new and improved methods to analyze and report on data
  • Understanding or project management; experience in coordinating simultaneous assignments by assessing deadlines, establishing work priorities, and coordinating work schedule
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, professional demeanor with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (both orally and written), particularly the ability to explain complex data analyses in easy to understand terms
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, prioritize work; handle stress and conflict
  • Resourcefulness, ingenuity, strong decision making and problem solving skills
  • Experience with medical billing or coding and associated lexicon a plus
  • Coding or Coding Documentation review a plus
  • Understanding of revenue cycle/chart flow, and associated processes
