JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:

This position works directly with the Quality Payment Program (QPP) Operations to define, implement, and execute processes and business requirements related to the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS), in support of Quality Operations. The Quality Operations Analyst will further assist in testing, measuring, and monitoring process efficiency; support Communications; and lead Quality Performance Management programming and training. The Quality Operations Analyst needs to be able to understand the business challenges of the healthcare industry and the impact of the changing landscape of quality reporting to CMS.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports Quality Payment Program (QPP) Management and staff members in the coordination and management of various operational activities related to program and/or National Healthcare Quality Institute (NHQI) Registry processes.
  • Conducts research to assist in defining business processes that support Quality performance measurement and tracking against industry and TeamHealth standards.
  • Works collaboratively with leaders and staff to research, diagnose, and develop recommendations to resolve issues related to reporting to enhance current and anticipated work processes as needed.
  • Identifies and documents stakeholder/business requirements necessary to support QPP Operations activities, and lead approved initiatives, projects, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Translates stakeholder/business requirements into technical specifications that can be used to support Quality Operations.
  • Teams with QPP Communications staff in development, execution, and management of Quality Performance Improvement initiatives designed to support continuous improvement in MIPS quality across TeamHealth clinical service lines.
  • Communicates program complexities so that they may be easily understood by business and clinical leadership, supported clinicians, other key stakeholders, and Information Technology developers, as necessary.
  • Works effectively with business and clinical leadership and subject matter experts in a collaborative manner, building constructive and effective relationships.
  • Organizes initiative, project, or task documents, reports, and other related documents.
  • Plans, executes, and monitors progress, as well as coordinates meetings and setup, for the various initiatives assigned.
  • Prepares meeting agendas, materials, and minutes for assigned initiatives and tasks, as well as follows up on meeting action items.
  • Assists with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with the business users performing system use configuration and testing, as necessary.
  • Tracks, maintains and ensures the integrity of data from management systems.
  • Troubleshoots data and conducts analysis using critical thinking and advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Identifies possible data issues and mitigation actions necessary to quickly resolve.
  • Assists with operational or technical process definition.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:     

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Communications, Finance, Healthcare Operations, or related field.
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in corporate or operational reporting/analysis; proven skill accomplishments preparing and communicating models, trend analysis, operational metrics, etc., and making recommendations for leadership.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse group of team members, including executives, managers, clinicians, IT professionals, and subject matter experts.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Technical aptitude accompanied with basic understanding of data flow and processes to control data.
  • Ability to quickly learn new concepts and technical skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, prioritize work, and handle stress/conflict.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and written; particularly the ability to explain complex data analyses in easy to understand terms.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work well with others, and work with minimal direction/supervision.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, prioritize work, and handle stress/conflict.
  • Resourcefulness, ingenuity, and problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Medical Charts/Coding experience
    • MIPS Quality Measures experience
    • Healthcare experience

Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.
