Cloud Operations Intern

OVERVIEW

Under supervision, this position will be expected to support EIT/Digital Infrastructure department in working with AWS, Azure, and GCP platforms for the Public Cloud Operations and Infrastructure Team. This position will be required to work in the office at least 2 days a week, with work from home/hybrid setup available if desired. The Cloud Operations intern will be expected to work a minimum of 15 hours per week, up to a maximum of 25 hours per week, and will report for work during the normal 8 AM to 5 PM ET business day (Monday through Friday). The applicant must be currently enrolled in a degree-seeking educational program with an accredited school, or a recent graduate, and/or currently working towards specific industry-standard certification achievements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work with Cloud Operations Engineers, Systems Administrators, Software Developers, and Information Security Engineers
  • Design and build controls to restrict/limit AWS cloud services that can be deployed by engineering teams
  • Contribute to the development of automation scripts and tools to improve the efficiency and scalability of cloud operations
  • Help monitor system performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide support for cloud environments
  • Documentation - Create and maintain clear, concise documentation for projects, processes, and solutions
  • Assist with cleanup of unused resources, services, IAM identities and roles in public cloud environments

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:
  • Customer Service mindset with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, internet, e-mail)
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team oriented environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Foundational understanding of Cloud Computing Concepts (AWS, Azure, and GCP)
