Executive Vice President

TeamHealth Columbus, OH (Remote) Full-Time
Overview
The Executive Vice President (EVP) position is responsible for partnering with the Group President to ensure the financial and operational health of the Group. The EVP is part of a shared leadership model coupling physicians and business leaders to effectively manage a regional book of business supporting the overall mission and vision of TeamHealth. This executive is accountable for advancing the integration, growth, and performance of client contracts, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy, and fostering a culture of excellence in patient care, clinician engagement, and operational efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and implement the long-term vision and strategy for integrated clinical services in alignment with the client’s mission and goals.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for growth, partnership, and market expansion.
Operational Excellence
  • Oversee operations, including financial performance, staffing, compliance, and patient experience, and coordinate closely with the Group President on issues of clinical quality.
  • Ensure efficient operations that balance clinician productivity, premium labor, and cost effectiveness in partnership with the Group President.
  • Implement standardized policies, procedures, and systems to support operations management and alignment to National Support Center policies and procedures.

Client Management and Growth
  • Role models Partners in Performance methodology, focused on alignment, retention, and communication.
  • Recommend and implement a client support structure that balances span of control with appropriate client and clinician resources.
  • Leads complex contract negotiations with multiple elements in a highly consultative manner.
  • Negotiates contracts and closes agreements to maximize performance.
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts, client stakeholders, and executive sponsors.
  • Leads solution development efforts that best address customer needs and ensures prompt resolution, while coordinating the involvement of internal company resources.
Clinician and Associate Engagement & Development
  • Support and develop operational/business leader direct and indirect reports (SVPs, VPOs)
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, clinical leaders, and administrative associates.
  • Partner with Recruiting to drive clinician recruitment.
  • Collaborate with Provider Services to ensure positive clinician onboarding, and to manage and monitor premium labor costs.
  • Coordinate with the groups' senior physician leadership to develop and implement premium labor reduction programs.
  • Champion programs that enhance clinician/associate satisfaction, retention, wellness, and engagement.
Financial & Business Performance
  • Develop and manage budgets, financial plans, and performance metrics for the group.
  • Demonstrate acumen around revenue cycle, payer contracting, and value-based care initiatives.
  • Monitor and improve profitability, growth, and sustainability of the group.
Quality, Compliance & Patient Experience
  • Partner with the Group President to ensure clinician practices comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and risk management standards.
  • Promote high-quality, evidence-based care that improves outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications / Experience
  • Master’s degree in business or related field
  • Fifteen plus years in an executive C-suite position within a Hospital System or with a large ($500M revenue or greater) contract management firm
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proven leadership and strategic management abilities
  • Expertise in managing operations, financial performance, client relationships, and physician/clinician engagement
