JOB OVERVIEW

TeamHealth, Inc. is a fast-paced private equity-backed business looking to rapidly expand its market share within the anesthesia healthcare vertical. The business is looking to be more data-driven and believes that it will be a key competitive advantage going forward. We are looking for a passionate Data Analyst, who can help in driving this transformation. A successful candidate has a proven faculty in turning data into information, information into insight, and insight into business decisions.

The ideal candidate will possess both strong technical skills and strong business acumen. They will need to have a strong command of SQL and the Microsoft Office suite, and have a working knowledge of Tableau and Python or R. They additionally need to have experience taking unstructured objectives, independently making assumptions, and delivering actionable analysis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Interpreting data and analyzing results using statistical techniques
  • Working across the business to develop and implement data analyses, data collection systems, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
  • Acquiring data from primary or secondary data sources and maintaining databases
  • Building queries and analytical pipelines to automate analyses and reporting
  • Identifying, analyzing, and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets

Job Requirements

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum:
    • Undergraduate degree in a STEM or Quantitative Social Science discipline
    • Passion for solving business problems with data
    • 3+ years of proven working experience working in an analytical capacity developing insights and making recommendations
    • Experience using data access tools and building visualizations using large datasets and multiple data sources
    • Experience delivering presentations and demonstrations to senior-level business and technical audiences
    • Ability to learn and assimilate technical information quickly
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Preferred:
    • 2+ years of client-facing/consulting preferably in Data Analysis
    • 2+ years of SQL (MSSQL, Vertica, Hive, etc.) or relational database experience (MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL)
    • 1+ year of experience with packages such as Python, R, and Tableau
      • Nice to have: SPSS, SAS, STATA etc
    • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets
    • Very focused attention to detail and accuracy
    • Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

  • Duties are performed in a modern office setting.
  • May require some occasional work in the evenings and on weekends.
  • Prolonged sitting, with prolonged work on a PC.
  • May require travel.

This position may require manual dexterity and/or frequent use of the computer, telephone, 10-key, calculator, office machines (copier, scanner, and fax) and/or the ability to perform repetitive motions and/or meet production standards to comply with the essential functions. Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.
