Job Description


The IT Business Analyst is a self-starter who displays the ability to identify areas where improvement is needed and is able to act on such opportunities. This person is able to take direction from the department head and work with business stakeholders in the Ambulatory and Post Acute Service Lines to provide the leadership, facilitation, analysis and documentation tasks. The role includes evaluating current workflows, identifying inefficiencies, establishing business cases and ROIs, identifying and recommending alternative technical solutions, documentation and training.


  • Provides independent leadership of projects or works with others to identify opportunities, gather and prioritize requirements, develop solution alternatives and coordinate solution deployment.
  • Collaborates with business personnel, business Project Managers, IT Project Managers, third party vendors and IT solution delivery personnel.
  • Creates comprehensive business process models of current state and future state capturing pertinent process step details in design documents.
  • Evaluates technical solution alternatives including build vs buy decisions. Provides financial assessments to support recommended solution.
  • Structures and develops test plans (e.g. test objectives, test cases, test data and test scripts) for executing unit, integration, regression, system and/or acceptance testing in order to ensure the solution meets the business requirements.
  • Performs early stage project management (Requirements definition, solution design) with turnover to IT Project Managers for solution deployment.
  • Performs related duties as assigned including training, technical documentation, vendor management and administrative support.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and at least 3 – 5 years enterprise system experience
  • Knowledge and experience in developing various types of requirements;
  • Experience in using different development methodologies with examples of each;
  • Knowledge of Visio, Blueworks Live or other type of workflow management tool;
  • Healthcare knowledge or experience (Ambulatory, Urgent Care and/or Post-Acute Care) a plus;
  • Knowledge and experience in the following areas are highly desirable:
    • Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques (w/ statistical analysis)
    • Business Intelligence
    • Business Architecture
    • Project Management

Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.
