JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible for pulling, copying, and attaching vouchers for the IDX requests, ETM requests and claim forms received on a daily basis. Requests or claims that have payments stored offsite will be requested from storage vendor by the EOB Offsite File Clerk. Must have good organizational skills, computer skills, and be production oriented. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Retrieves EOB’s and makes copies from the payment files for other departments
  • Looks up EOB information on IDX to ensure the information is correct if not located
  • Print and work requests through ETM system for ED
  • Offsite File Clerk is responsible for requesting vouchers from Vital Records Control storage facility
  • Maintains a daily log
  • Perform other non-essential duties requested by the supervisor

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six months experience working with insurance or in a hospital/office environment preferred
  • Must have computer knowledge.
  • Must have good organizational skills.
  • Must be able to stay focused and follow through with assignments.
  • Must be production oriented.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • None

PHYSICAL / ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and lift up to 20 pounds of boxed weight; requires sitting and walking tolerance. Must be detail oriented and have good organizational skills. This job is performed in a well-lighted environment.

This position may require manual dexterity and/or frequent use of the computer, telephone, 10-key, calculator, office machines (copier, scanner, fax) and/or the ability to perform repetitive motions and/or meet production standards to comply with the essential functions. Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.
