JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:

The Eligibility Analyst is responsible for reviewing and processing the HDX reports that are received on a daily basis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Download, set up and log HDX reports that have been assigned to the Eligibility Analyst for the week.
  • Recognize potential problems including issues with not receiving HDX reports, HDX web not giving us correct or accurate information, FSC or addresses not matching the DREP or MREP master list to what is in HDX, etc. Problems identified must be brought to the attention of the Director of Reimbursement.
  • Thorough knowledge of TeamHealth billing directives and process all claims according to these directives. The goal is to insure that the HDX reports are correctly worked in a timely manner.
  • To make sure that the Eligibility Analyst have all current and up to date Job Aids and Policies. These are to be accessed on the AKBC “S” drive.
  • Consistently meet established completion times for projects and assignments.
  • Communicates with the Director of Reimbursement on the progress of projects and assignments and progress toward completion on a timely basis.
  • Communicates with team members, willing to help other team members at a moment’s notice to ensure reports are worked in a timely manner.
  • Consistently meet and maintain the QA and production standards.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Reimbursement.

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two to three years experience in physician medical billing.
  • Thorough knowledge of physician billing policies and procedures.
  • Computer literate.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Able to analyze patient accounts to determine what action is required.
  • Typing skills of 8,000 KPH and 35 WPM with 95% accuracy

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • None

PHYSICAL / ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

Set in a pleasant, high-volume, fast-paced office environment. Ability to meet closing deadlines and production standards is required. Involves extensive computer use and constant sitting.

  • Job is performed in a well-lighted, climate-controlled modern office setting.
  • Prolonged sitting at a workstation using a computer.
  • Moderate phone use.
  • Moderate bending and standing.
  • Moderate stress level.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 25 pounds.

This position may require manual dexterity and/or frequent use of the computer, telephone, 10-key, calculator, office machines (copier, scanner, fax) and/or the ability to perform repetitive motions and/or meet production standards to comply with the essential functions. Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.
