Market and sell locum tenens services to healthcare clients. Identify current and potential users of locum tenens staffing. Build business relationships with hospitals, medical groups, clinics, practice management companies, and health systems educating them about D&Y Locum Tenens services.


  • Engage with D&Y sales leadership in strategic planning and market analysis to ensure long term divisional growth within the commercial market in order to meet organizational goals.
  • Execute inside sales strategy within assigned territory in order to procure new client agreements.
  • Collaborates with sales management on price evaluation in order to gain competitive edge in market place.
  • Ability to negotiate contract terms and rates with prospective clients at different levels of leadership.
  • Responsible for meeting sales activity metrics assigned by sales management.
  • Maintain accurate engagement records of prospective clients, sales pipelines, as well as assigned sales activity metrics within company CRM.
  • Review and follow-up on information sources (journals, periodicals, internet, social media, etc.) on a regular basis to identify trends/changes in healthcare in general and in specific territory.
  • Keep abreast of changes in the locum tenens industry and with what competitors are offering to business clients.
  • Provide weekly report of activities and other reports as requested by sales management.
  • Client engagement and development activities to include: customer satisfaction, problem resolution, and client retention if requested by sales management.
  • Collaboration with marketing team to attract prospective clients via social media, trade shows, networking events, and other areas as needed.
  • Perform other projects/tasks as assigned by sales management.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent professional experience preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience in inside sales with business development; experience working in a staffing sales cycle environment preferred.
  • Healthcare staffing and/or marketing cold calling experience is required; healthcare/locum tenens knowledge is a plus.
  • Must be able to adapt to change in a fast-paced, dynamic sales environment.
  • Demonstrated record of achieving and/or surpassing sales goals.
  • Intermediate knowledge of various software applications (Microsoft Office Suite preferred) and the ability to learn new business software applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively via verbal and written means.
  • Professional telephone presentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an orientation toward customer service.
  • Ability to work with minimal direction and supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills accompanied by flexibility to quickly adapt to any new business environment.
  • Experience in coordinating simultaneous assignments by assessing project deadlines, establishing work priorities, and coordinating personal work schedule. 


  • Job is performed in a well-lighted, climate controlled modern office setting.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs.

  • This position may require manual dexterity and/or frequent use of the computer, telephone, 10-key, calculator, office machines (copier, scanner, fax, etc.) and/or the ability to perform repetitive motions and/or meet production standards to comply with the essential functions. Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.
