JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:

 

The Director of Provider Contracting is responsible for the overall operations of the Provider Contracting team. This position serves as a point of contact for Provider Contracting while facilitating and partnering with appropriate TH leaders and managers to ensure optimal performance. Creates and maintains a collaborative cultural climate in which the organization, department and individuals operate. Able to make decisions, implement action plans, solve problems and follow through on all commitments to best serve the overall Provider Contracting experience. The position is designed to work with many different departments and leaders to make a difference in operational efficiencies.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Oversee the provider contracting process for the SE Service Center, which includes the verification of new, edit and termination contract requests and the preparation and management of all provider contract documents resulting from those requests, in accordance with internal policies and procedures and applicable facility contracts
  • Contribute heavily to the development of and lead regional implementation of new and revised policy related to provider contracting process in response to changes in corporate policies/procedures, governing laws and operational initiatives
  • Serve as Service Center representative on the national task force for provider contracting
  • Serve as chief liaison on provider and facility contracting matters for internal stakeholders
  • Serve as operational advisor on enhancements to the national standard provider contract template and perform maintenance on all national templates as requested by corporate legal and compliance
  • Maintain regional provider contract forms database and compose nonstandard provider contract language and documents for corporate legal review as needed
  • Draft contract-related correspondence and other documentation and miscellaneous agreements, such as lease and other service agreements for corporate legal review as needed
  • Oversee and perform maintenance of/on provider and facility contracting data to ensure data integrity for reporting and operational processes
  • Serve as corporate representative for various entities in depositions and trials and as in-house litigation coordinator, providing support and knowledge to requests from corporate legal and claims management and outside legal counsel
  • Oversee supervision of provider contracting staff and related processes, including hiring, training, disciplinary action, performance evaluations, coordination/prioritization/tracking of workload and other related responsibilities
  • Perform special projects related to provider and facility contracting as needed/requested

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates Degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of four years of experience with contracts, legal documents or other health care related work;
  • Management experience required;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications;
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written);
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Providers, Medical Directors and VPOs;
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects;
  • Ability to meet challenging deadlines;
  • Ability to work in a team environment;
