Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:

Oversee the Security Engineering and Architecture and assists in the implementation and configuration of security strategies, technologies and services. Manage Security engineering staff and budget and coordinate security engineering with Security Operations and other Information Technology departments. Provide quality and cost effective information security services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the security architecture is integrated and consistent with TeamHealth’s overall systems architecture.
  • Provide timely reporting and analytics of security engineering design and architecture and how it relates to security posture and threat landscape.
  • Engineer and architect in collaboration with security operations real-time monitoring / management of events and event correlations and appropriate and timely response.
  • Engineer and architect integration of security products with each other and other information systems.
  • Provide advice and reporting to executive management on the effects of various current and proposed security engineering on business performance.
  • Interface with service vendors and hardware vendors for both procurement and maintenance of security equipment and services.
  • Engineer and architect configurations and technologies for security management and for the dynamic configuration of supported security devices and applications.
  • Oversee and direct staff on the executions of the services and responsibilities as described herein.
  • Facilitates the development and implementation of appropriate security configurations, policies, processes and procedures.

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in a technically relevant field. Experience managing security staff and services in an enterprise environment preferred.
  • 10+ years of IT work experience.
  • 5+ years of IT security supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written); the ability to bridge communications between technical and non-technical communities a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work with a variety of personality types; Experience working with senior managers a plus.
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to grasp and apply technical and work flow process concepts;
  • Ability to work with minimal direction/supervision;
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills accompanied by flexibility to quickly adapt to any new business environment;
  • Ability to conduct research into technical issues, standards, and products.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Able prioritize and execute tasks and direct others in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages the delivery of IT security engineering and architecture via the management of products, services, vendors and both in house and outsourced staff.

PHYSICAL / ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Potential rotational on-call availability for days per month.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Travel.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components.
  • Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.

This position may require manual dexterity and/or frequent use of the computer, telephone, 10-key, calculator, office machines (copier, scanner, fax) and/or the ability to perform repetitive motions and/or meet production standards to comply with the essential functions. Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.
