JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:

The Director of Business Development will be implementing sales and marketing activities, generating new marketing leads, growing existing business, strengthening PCP/referral relationships and improving client satisfaction. This role works closely with the market’s partnered facilities developing strong working relationships while identifying new business development opportunities for expanding clinical services presence in the market area.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Direct and engage business development activities for the acute and post-acute physician groups.
  • Initiate, develop and maintain relationships with key market business partners and customers.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans which increase business through clinical referrals for physician groups.
  • Educate clients (PCP, Specialists and Healthcare facilities) regarding the scope of services offered by TeamHealth.
  • Assist with strategy formulation around managed care market development.
  • Assist in the development of the practice budget working to identify appropriate avenues for revenue growth to meet budget expectations.
  • Review monthly actual financial data to budgeted data to identify revenue variances and work to find alternatives to offset negative revenue flow through growth.
  • Establish hospital alignment with TeamHealth’s clinical market capabilities.
  • Develop a collaborative relationship with Practice Group Leaders and teams.
  • Develop a year-over-year strategic growth plan for each Practice Group assigned to the Director of Business Development.
  • Participate in onboarding by introducing new clinicians to facility partners and referring physicians including visiting each twice monthly during the first three months.
  • Ensure appropriate visits to client base occur with regular cadence (monthly, every other month, or quarterly) once the onboarding period expires.
  • Co-market the practice with physician leadership or other clinicians.
  • Meet growth targets, measured by total encounters, increase in revenue and/or increase in client relationships/contracts
  • Monitor discharge and transitions in care reports to provide performance feedback to referring physicians and facilities.
  • Provide referring physician and client feedback to our physicians & APCs as well as participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings.
  • Maintain appropriate forms and physician referral database;
  • Work collaboratively with Program Administrator by providing feedback from facility partners and referring physicians and facilitating appropriate response to feedback.
  • Provide broad overview of weekly goals to Director of Operations,
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings with updates from the field.

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills
  • Exceptional marketing, customer service, leadership, project management, business growth and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated leadership potential
  • Ability to work autonomously with ability to multitask while remaining flexible
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; written and verbal communication skills including report writing are exceptional
  • Passion for medicine and key understanding or contacts in the medical community
  • Experience with and ability to develop relationships and work with physicians and senior level executives
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Suite products.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred; advanced degree helpful
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in healthcare business development or customer service, physician practice management or healthcare sales.
  • Experience with delegated medical groups and managed care contracts is preferred
  • Participation in professional associations
  • Experience in the San Antonio market preferred
  • Frequent travel in the Greater San Antonio area is required
