POSITION:

Data (BI) Engineer (multiple openings)  M-F, 8AM – 5PM Full-time - 40 hrs/wk.

DUTIES:

The BI Engineer will use smart technology to empower stakeholders enterprise-wide to make the best decisions based on timely, accurate and actionable information. Works with SQL and Big Data Technologies. The BI Engineer will have the chance to work with the best data and massively parallel processing databases to speed analyses, with broad exposure to the workings of the company and critical thinking to tackle complex challenges. When other teams need to know about providers, productivity, performance, or other data insights, they count on our Data & Analytics team. Specific duties include: Work as part of a progressive, technology-focused team that is dedicated to identifying and delivering solutions to our customers and employees with smart technology and teamwork. Embody our company values along with Agile and lean software development principles. Proactively engage in both internal and external learning opportunities. Responsibility for the full development life cycle of the solution, including detailed design, code development, code reviews, unit testing, build/test support, data quality monitors, deployment activities and post-deployment support. Build great leadership skills by managing and optimizing the EDA team BI architecture and development along with analytic operations: job-stream definition and management, parameters, scheduling, monitoring, communication and alerting. Juggle multiple project timelines simultaneously and estimate development duration and effort for all projects. Communicate openly and candidly with your Team Leader and other teammates verbally and written. Viewed as a mentor by others in and outside the team for technical solutions. Hands on with Big Data management activities including acquisition, ingestion, transformation, and data quality.

 

Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or Business Administration with Management Information Systems emphasis (or foreign equivalent). 5 years hands on experience constructing MicroStrategy models, reports and dashboards (Dossier) using latest versions including 10+. 5 years of experience with SQL, database, and data warehouse. 5 years of experience with drill downs and drill through in MicroStrategy. 3 years of experience with Debug SQL generated by MicroStrategy report objects. 5 years of experience with Metric, level metrics, transforms, filter, and prompt creation, and selectors creation and use. 3 years of experience with MicroStrategy performance monitoring. 3 years of experience in a Data Warehouse environment reporting on dimensions/hierarchies Data merge and data wrangling Intelligent Cube design and creation MicroStrategy security and administration MicroStrategy VLDB settings.

Alternatively, employer will accept: Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or Business Administration with Management Information Systems emphasis and 3 years hands on experience constructing MicroStrategy models, reports and dashboards (Dossier) using latest versions including 10+. At least 3 years’ experience in each of the special skills listed above.
