Job Description


Reporting directly to the Sr. Credentials Manager, this position is responsible for the daily management of the Internal Credentials Team within the Acute Care Services Group. Provides oversight and guidance to the internal credentials team to ensure all quality standards for accuracy and completeness are met within allotted time frames. Collaborates regularly with Sr. Credentials Manager and fellow leaders in the end-to-end process to meet organizational objectives and ensure effective cross-functional communication.


  • Oversees the daily operations of the Internal Credentialing Team; Ensures team members have the appropriate skill set and tools to meet requirements of positions and provide appropriate coaching and training as needed
  • Manages and monitors process for running Expired/Expiring Credentials and State License Exceptions reports, follow-ups and escalations to ensure scheduled providers are adequately credentialed; Ensure effective collaboration with External Credentials Team for resolution of expiring documents
  • Ensures team members achieve compliance with Internal Credentials Team metrics by adhering to the defined process and documenting appropriately in TeamWorks; Holds team members accountable when requirements are not being met and provides timely feedback
  • Reviews data analytics and adherence weekly and monthly with a focus on quality performance; Creates and implements strategic plans for improvement when metrics fall short and appropriately reports status to Sr. Credentials Manager
  • Monitors effectiveness of processes, identifies areas for improvement and creatively determines solutions to resolve inefficiencies; Escalates appropriately to Sr. Credentials Manager for collaborative resolution
  • Collaborates regularly with End to End Leaders, specifically the Onboarding Manager, to continuously monitor and improve cross-functional process flow and communication
  • Assesses work distribution to ensure efficient allocation of resources on a regular basis
  • Coordinates team staff meetings regularly, provides educational opportunities for staff development and collaborates with other functional group leaders as appropriate
  • Promotes employee engagement through leadership and monthly rounding with an emphasis on accountability
  • Represents the Acute Care Services Internal Credentials Team with the National Credentials Taskforce; Meets monthly with fellow managers and directors to continuously improve operational efficiency
  • Proactively report Internal Credentials Team performance to Sr. Credentials Manager, with a focus on solutions where performance requires improvement
  • Collaborate with Sr. Credentials Manager to ensure cross-coverage
  • Maintain personal adherence to professional confidentiality standards established within the Department and in accordance with legal, ethical, and hospital policies.
  • Attends workshops and training sessions to stay current on credentialing standards
  • Follows the guidelines established for communication, production, efficiency, conflict resolution, decision-making, problem solving and interpersonal relations
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements



  • BS in Business, Health Administration or related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of three years of leadership experience in the healthcare industry required
  • Experience with State and Regulatory agency requirements as it relates to healthcare credentialing guidelines preferred
  • Combination of Education and experience may be considered
