JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:

The internal Credentials Coordinator is focused on assuring that the data and documentation Clinicians provide for Credentialing, Enrollment and Human Resources activities meet the appropriate quality standards for accuracy and completeness. Functions of this position are critical for maintaining TeamHealth brand, reputation, good-standing and relationships with the facility medical staff offices and payers.  Responsible for validating and verifying the medical training, licensing, certification and work history submitted by clinicians.  In addition, responsibilities include ensuring accurate data entry, uploading and indexing of clinician information into TeamHealth systems. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Works closely with Clinician Onboarding Liaison
  • Open/close credentials file in Teamworks
  • Conduct verification of information submitted by clinicians
  • Ensure all credential file data elements are properly entered in into appropriate Teamworks fields
  • Make corrections, complete data entry, validation and verification activities within timeframes specified on the clinician onboarding plan
  • Run monthly Expiring Credentials Report and identify clinicians with expiring credentials
  • Run monthly State License Exception Report and initiate appropriate follow up actions
  • Escalate issues to the Clinician Onboarding Liaison and/or the external Credentials Coordinator according to applicable policies

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

 

  • HS Diploma or equivalent; Associate Degree preferred
  • Minimum of one year of experience in an administrative role;
  • Experience in a health care setting, medical staff office or credentials position strongly preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Ability to meet deadlines and capable of working in stressful situations
