Job Description


This position is primarily responsible for ensuring that managed care and government-related contracts are loaded timely and accurately pursuant to all terms within the executed agreements for all lines of business.  Additional key functions include preparing reimbursement calculations, maintaining lists / reports, managing loading exceptions, communicating with Managed Care departments and Billing Centers, and other duties as needed. The Contract Management Specialist must be focused, organized, analytical, deadline-driven, and have the ability to prioritize appropriately.


  1. Ensure all necessary and required contract elements are submitted by Managed Care upon receipt of loading submissions.
  2. Run reports and prepare fee calculations where contract reimbursement is based on a governmental fee schedule.
  3. Prepare loading submissions through Onbase software.
  4. Update IDX/GE — including Contract Maintenance, Pricing, and PCM modules.
  5. Manage electronic inventory of contracts and supporting documentation to ensure internal and external audit requirements are met.
  6. Research under-allowed and over-allowed contract variances.
  7. Participate in biweekly / monthly conference calls with Managed Care and Billing Centers.
  8. Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

This position may require manual dexterity and/or frequent use of the computer, telephone, calculator, office machines (copier, scanner, and fax) and/or the ability to perform repetitive motions and/or meet production standards to comply with the essential functions.


  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a medical billing or office environment preferred. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal direction/supervision.
  • Self-starter with desire to learn new systems and skills.
  • Analytical, focused, organized.
  • Skilled in time management and problem solving.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Office 2010.
  • IDX/GE software knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, challenging work environment.
