JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible for the management of Clinical Applications projects as assigned.  An essential function of this position is to work as a liaison with all work teams within the corporate structure.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly manages multiple projects as assigned using best practices for project management as defined by TeamHealth guidelines
  • Coordinates with Director of Clinical Applications to ensure alignment and appropriate prioritization of project within portfolios. Leads planning activities as assigned.
  • Works with Director of Clinical Applications to obtain resource commitments for projects and defines roles and responsibilities of project team members in a strong functional organization
  • Creates comprehensive business process models and maps based on requirements, capturing pertinent process step details in design documents so that opportunities for process improvements, benchmarks, key performance indicators, current metrics, and target objectives can be recognized establishing benefits realization objectives.
  • Communicates plans, issues and responsibilities clearly and concisely to project team members, functional managers, sponsors and other project stakeholders
  • Coordinates meetings, facilitates discussions, and offers recommendations regarding all aspects of projects
  • Offers innovative solutions for process documentation and coordinates implementation of these documentation procedures
  • Contributes ideas and opinions about strategic issues for consideration by senior management. This includes collecting relevant data, analyzing data, and assisting in developing presentations for Director of Clinical Applications to present to senior management
  • Uses group facilitation skills in working with leaders and employees on projects and intervenes in a manner that ensures ownership and commitment is maintained by the impacted systems or group
  • Achieves and maintains a working knowledge of key applications used by TeamHealth and the processes they support.  Maintains close relationships with experts in the use of each application and/or process so as to facilitate efficient decision making regarding each application

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Development or Management, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field is required;
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ recent experience in project management involving projects crossing multiple business functions and software applications.
  • Experience with projects related to Electronic Health Record implementations, integrations, etc.
  • Formal project management training required. PMP certification preferred or willingness to obtain within reasonable timeframe required; experience with Agile/Scrum preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work with and manage without authority a variety of personality types; Experience working with senior managers.
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written); the ability to bridge communications between technical and non-technical communities required.
  • Demonstrated experience creating and managing complex project schedules, managing risk registry, and preparing meaningful status reports required.
  • Ability to grasp and apply technical and work flow process concepts;
  • Ability to work with minimal direction/supervision;
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills accompanied by flexibility to quickly adapt to any new business environment;
  • Experience in coordinating simultaneous assignments by assessing project deadlines, establishing work priorities, and coordinating personal work schedule;
  • Experience in group facilitation, work process analysis, and change management;
  • Technical aptitude accompanied with basic understanding of databases and IT systems;
  • Extensive knowledge and work experience using various software applications (specifically Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, Visio, and collaborative technologies);
  • Ability to handle stress and conflict.

PHYSICAL / ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Job performed in a well-lit, modern office setting
  • Occasional lifting/carrying (10 pounds or less)
  • Occasional bending/stooping/reaching/pulling
  • Prolonged sitting; and work on a computer
  • Moderate to High stress

This position may require manual dexterity and/or frequent use of the computer, telephone, 10-key calculator, office machines (copier, scanner, fax) and/or the ability to perform repetitive motions and/or meet production standards to comply with the essential functions. Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.
