Job Description

The Face Sheet Chart Audit Clerk is responsible for supporting the Chart Capture Department by performing clerical duties, special projects, and general tasks as assigned. Performs duties necessary to obtain face sheets in order to facilitate timely and accurate billing.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Pursues missing face sheets utilizing Fax, Email or Remote Access.
  • Conducts all necessary follow up including telephone calls with facilities and on some occasions with the Regional Offices.
  • Reviews all incoming face sheets to ensure they contain complete demographic and insurance information.
  • Collects missing face sheets and inputs them into the Bill Matching system.
  • For incomplete face sheets, pursues and documents follow up efforts into the Bill Matching system.
  • Conducts regular searches via the IDX/ system (Billing System) and Passport (Medicare Eligibility) to locate and match patients listed on the Missing Face Sheet Report.
  • Batches incoming face sheets sent in by facilities and regional offices (by region and no more than 50). Forwards them to the Registration Department for processing.
  • Routine and miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Assists with special projects.
  • Searches IDX System for duplicate charts when reviewing miscellaneous charts.

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • 55-60 WPM.
  • Accurate 10-keystrokes, by touch.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Able to work in fast paced environment.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of IDX-BAR system, preferred.
  • Able to perform duties independently without direct supervision.
  • Minimum High School diploma, or equivalent.
  • One year minimum clerical experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • None

PHYSICAL / ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: 

Set in a pleasant, high-volume, fast-paced office environment. Ability to meet closing deadlines, and production standards is required. Involves extensive computer use.

Overtime may be required and can be mandated by Management.

This position may require manual dexterity and/or frequent use of the computer, telephone, 10-key, calculator, office machines (copier, scanner, fax) and/or the ability to perform repetitive motions and/or meet production standards to comply with the essential functions. Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.
