OVERVIEW

The Director, Project Management Organization is a key member of TeamHealth’s management team, directs and oversees the Program Management Office to ensure EIT programs and projects meet organization goals and requirements. Develops and implements PMO processes and policies, directs project management staff, and works with other department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop projects and programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Strategic Plan & Roadmap - Develop and maintain a formal project management strategic plan that includes mission and vision, values and priorities, structural components, communication plan, development priorities, resource plan and key measurements
  • Oversight - Establish the Project Management Organization and operating model by setting standards for project management capabilities, including certifications and qualifications for Project Managers, success measurement criteria, methodologies, tools to be used. Create a ‘Centre of Excellence’ to nurture project management practitioners and share knowledge of industry best practices
  • Program Leadership – Ensuring the PMO meets performance targets: Align with the organization’s strategic objectives and adhere to best practices
  • Interface with executives to define project priorities and implementation opportunities and challenges, and keep them up-to-date with project risks and opportunities. Provide executive leaders with the information needed to assess which proposals have the highest potential value, impact and strategic alignment
  • Teamwork & Leadership– Lead PMO organization, consisting of direct reports and indirect reports (such as individuals in business partner relationships). Must be able to accomplish results working through multiple indirect relationships
  • Establish the PMO organization structure, oversee the delegation of work to Project Managers and Program Managers and their delivery of projects/programs on time, within scope and on budget
  • Set annual performance targets for individuals and the team and conduct performance reviews
  • Leadership Collaboration – The director will lead collaboration with senior management and business leaders using their influence to align and integrate with business needs
  • Industry Best Practice - Identify and adopt the most appropriate industry best practice, methods, tools, technology and standards to accelerate TeamHealth capabilities
  • Policies & Procedures - Develop and maintain project management policies and procedures that are clear and simple to adopt and operate at appropriate levels of the organization
  • TeamHealth Brand – Protect the brand while ensuring TeamHealth’s PMO and leadership portray a positive public posture for leadership, integrity and demonstrating best practice. The director will maintain personal credentials, remain abreast of changes in technology and keep TeamHealth a premier brand in the market

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Masters preferred, in Business Administration, Organizational Management, or other relevant field of study or equivalent professional experience
  • Five (5)-Seven (7) years of experience in line management, project management, and/or consulting leadership roles with significant Healthcare industry
  • Five (5)-Seven (7) experience leading business analysis and projects
  • Hands-on experience leading large-scale change initiatives across the full lifecycle of-- strategy, planning, requirements definition, design, delivery
  • Highly organized, with demonstrated track record in a program management office environment
  • Exceptional strategic planning, influencing, and communication skills (verbal, written, presentation and negotiation)
  • Experience with Smartsheet and Microsoft Project a plus
  • Extraordinary initiative and problem solving dexterity
  • Proven track record in creating and developing effective and high performing teams
  • High change agility, strong change management skills and stakeholder management skills
  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) and Lean Six-Sigma Black-Belt certifications preferred
  • Leadership, teamwork and the ability to develop others.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio)
  • Experience in project management applications including but not limited to Microsoft Project and Daptiv
  • Patience and ability to excel under pressure, handling multiple requests often with tight deadlines
