Sr. Operations Support Specialist

TeamHealth Knoxville, TN (Remote) Full-Time

JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:

The Senior Specialist, Operations Support is responsible for managing and resolving service desk tickets related to TeamHealth’s scheduling platform, ensuring timely support, issue resolution, and continuity of scheduling operations across the EM, HM, Ambulatory, and Specialty service lines. This role provides advanced troubleshooting when data flow or system integration issues arise and partners closely with Provider Services, Operations, EIT, the CMO Office, and clinician leadership to maintain accurate scheduling data and optimize system utilization. The Senior Specialist serves as the primary escalation point for scheduling-related service requests and plays a key role in maintaining the stability and reliability of scheduling processes enterprise-wide.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage and resolve service desk tickets related to scheduling platforms, ensuring timely follow-up, clear communication, and high-quality customer support.

• Lead troubleshooting efforts for data flow, system integration, and platform functionality issues; collaborate with internal teams to implement solutions.

• Support user acceptance testing for new features, enhancements, and system updates.

• Deliver and support training for administrative staff and clinician end users, ensuring effective system adoption and use.

• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for scheduling workflows, platform functionality, and best practices.

• Enter, audit, and validate scheduling data, proactively identifying variances or inconsistencies and resolving issues with stakeholders.

• Generate, interpret, and distribute reports to meet operational and leadership data needs.

• Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to address system defects, enhancement requests, and process improvement opportunities.

• Manage multiple priorities and deliver results within deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Participate in departmental meetings, continuous improvement efforts, and operational planning initiatives.

• Adhere to TeamHealth standards for communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Operations Support Manager.

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

• Associates Degree (Two (2) or more years of college) or equivalent experience preferred; Bachelor’s Degree preferred

• One (1) to three (3) years of related experience, preferably in TeamHealth Scheduling or in a medical setting working closely with clinicians

• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

• Excellent negotiating/ persuasion skills

• Excellent problem-solving ability

• Excellent decision making/ judgment skills

• Ability to work well with deadlines, stressful situations and multiple tasks

• Ability to think creatively within a short time-frame

• Ability to work a flexible schedule

• Ability to adapt to change and handle stress

• Advanced proficiency in various computer applications, i.e. word processing, spreadsheet, e-mail, database management and presentation software;

• Ability to handle confidential data;
