QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:
• Paralegal, legal studies or related degree and five (5) years of experience in legal support in a high volume and deadline sensitive practice area such as litigation or healthcare; Paralegal certification preferred.
• Ability to perform legal, regulation and other complex research.
• Outstanding computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, and database management).
• Ability to process and understand materials related to laws/regulations.
• Self-motivated, quick thinker, strong sense of urgency and time management skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Highly organized.
• Excellent problem solving skills.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in teams, as situation requires.
• Reliable, punctual, and efficient.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.

Regulatory Paralegal (REMOTE)
JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:
This position will perform complex research and analysis of federal and state regulations/statutes related to healthcare, including but not limited to Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) scope of practice and supervision, document regulatory environment, monitor changes and assist in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements; and perform special projects for the Chief Counsel, HCFS Health Care Financial Services, and the Director of Regulatory Operations or other senior members of the Legal Department as requested.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist in review of state regulations (statutes/board rules) related to APC scope of practice and supervision, clinical practice, insurance, Medicaid, and other areas.
• Review and track all proposed APC state legislation and provide monthly bulletin to APC Council.
• Maintain regulatory database(s).
• Research and provide answers to credentialing and other department questions on an ongoing basis.
• Other miscellaneous research.
• Prepare and maintain documents.
